Nokia 6288 update (part 1)

Previously we saw how a belligerent ah liak tried to fix up a dormant Nokia 6288 which was basically brain dead for a good year or so. The term brain dead is somewhat technically incorrect because it wasn’t the PCB of the handphone that conked out in the first place. Rather, it was the LCD screen that conked out.

AND recently, sad to say, the phone started behaving erratically. And i realised the issue was the LCD backlight. The backlight circuitry is sorted of governed from the keypad membrane. During one of my early forays in dismantling the phone, i accidentally cracked the data contact of the original keypad membrane. I suspect that the fallen out gold contacts are part of the logic circuits controlling the LCD backlight.

As of now, i am still awaiting the arrival of the new keypad membrane. I will post results of the new salvage operation soon. Thank you for reading!
