Foodie Goalies...[~updated]

Hmmm... Here's the list of places i would like to visit...

Steak

An informal setting. Unwind in the cosy ambience of rural America. Reminisce old times with your friends as you take comfort in the knowledge that prime cuts of beef are being grilled to perfection with natural juices sealed in.

Hog's Breath

Would you just take a look at that??

Swedish Meatballs

Alexandra Road. More known for its affordable and stylish nonetheless furniture, IKEA is more than a furniture mega mall. Essentially hawking lifestyle concepts, it effectively brings shoppers the authentic Scandivinian experience. The same can be said for it's inhouse restaurant. Affordably priced, the Swedish meatballs are a must-try.

Traditional Chinese Desserts

With our Metropolitan city constantly in the unpredictable squalls of Globalisation, the food scene has also experience many changes. Entry of new cuisines or the creation of new fusion types has been de riguer in the local scene. Yet as we try out the new, a sense of loss and confusion confronts us as we grapple with an erosion of identity due to the loss of the old. Hence the renaissance of authentic food rich in cultural and racial heritage. A very good example are desserts.

Ah Chew's Dessert Place

Desserts in Ah Chew's are touted to be better than Ji De Chi.

Ice-cream

Of the many restaurants/eateries that i mention in this particular entry, i have only manage to get my palate to judge on Azabo Sabo's. One thing that struck me first about Azabo Sabo was the way the interior designer had purportedly style the facade of the restaurant. The glass display of the food replicas reminded me of the traditional doll collections that wealthy Japanese families proudly display. The ambience of the restaurant registered more of a Chinese restaurant rather than a Japanese one. I guess one of the reasons that Azabo Sabo has attracted a cult following was its offering of home-made ice cream in the Japanese context. I was particularly impressed by the fact that one could leisurely sample [with no obligation]each of the many flavours of ice-cream sold at the takeaway counter.

Verdict: Thumbs up for the ice-cream, service but brickbats for the long time in serving.

Earthquake! Run for your lives!

Fish 'N' Chips

I was told that there is a restaurant that was modelled along the lines of Fish N Co except till the decor part. Though i have never dined at Fish N Co before, i remember it as a wholesome eatery with a bright welcoming interior whereas the other restaurant in question has a dark interior. Affordably priced, i was recommended to head for either the Crown Prince or the Changi Airport outlets.

Quirky Cuisine

Actually i heard of this eatery from Marleen. I stumbled on an online local review for this restaurant. Apparently, Changing Appetites has an older outlet at Far East Square. Given a choice, i would rather head down to Far East Square rather than Marina Square. Why else? The crowds...period. Hmmm, i was attracted to Changing Appetites not for its vaunted fusion cuisine offerings but rather i was impressed by its quirky menu offering 200++ items?! One of their offerings, the "Barbarians" has managed to convince me to shelve off my visit to Uberburger altogether... All this simply just on visual cue. Fwaugh! I'm a Barbarian ~

This is "Barbarians".. Won't you say hi you pansy!?

I tell you... it will be all or nothing if i can't sink my fangs into this!!

Were you struck by a bout of Deja Vu too? Hmmmm...
