Without fail, i will stow my handphone safely in the drawer of my personal cupboard. After all, who will call me in the dead of the night? I am glad for once that i forgot to deposit my handphone. At around 2345hrs, my phone vibrated and roused me from a grubby slumber. Feeling mystified rather than angry, i immediately answered.
A faint smile creased my face in the dark when i realised it was Urong san, our dear "Chiong Sua" warrior in Babina, India. Deja Vu. Barely 3 months ago in the same settings, i had received a call from him from R.O.C. For a moment i wondered if he has ever seen the Singtel commercial about foreign calls. In the minute-plus advertisement, the anonymous Singaporean found the scenery around him transform to a highly familiar heartland setting. Talk about feeling at home in a strange country. I wonder if he felt that he was calling in Yishun or maybe Bishan.*Chuckles
Anyway, he wants me to tell you fellas that he's good there. The bunk in Babina is spacious and comfortable but the extreme swing in temperatures between day and night was a bit hard to get used to. Imagine being braised in your own sweat at 50 Degrees Celsius during the day while combating absolute zero after nightfall. Okay i was a bit exaggerating about the absolute zero part but night temperatures never fail to stay below 0 Degrees Celsius.
Push on, my friend...
