Awful...

Time really flies... Without much ado, i realised that i have spent my second and last Lunar New Year under the auspices of NS. Soon i will be entering varsity and spending the next Chinese New Year as a civilian.

My recent appreciation of the passage of time has regrettably shoved the issue of my varsity funding to the forefront again, something which i would prefer to remain on the backburner. But reality being reality, i have to take a rational and realistic approach to it. So i went to the NUS OAM website again, something which i previously did a year ago. My sights were soon set on a suitable scholarship, the Exxon Mobil Scholarship.

The terms seem reasonably lucrative, $14,000 for every year of education in NUS. For every year of funding provided, the recepient is legally bounded to work one year for the Company. Contrary to the hullabaloo contributed by the PSC boohoos, i actually find the idea of bonding an attractive option.

In such a competitive job market today, i'm not sure of being able to procure a job easily if at all, let alone talking about a job that is filled with good perks, fulfilling and all that.

I have decided. I have got nothing to lose and everything to gain by giving it a shot. My only regret was that my fumbling and unsteadiness last year cost me a year in my procurement of the elusive scholarship. Now one of the minor headaches that has arise would be the recalling of the awards that i have been awarded if there had been any noteworthy. You reckon if they recognised something like the "Best Essay of the Month"?

P.S. Guys in NS, pls take note of your E Prep credits that you are entitled to, 300 if my memory serves me well. The scheme advocates co-payment so do your maths well. I think i'm going for it and hopefully it can ameliorate the degree of corrosion that has set in on my temporal lobes due to NS.
