Today's trip

Greetings folks!! Surprised? Well, you ought to be because everyone knows that i laze around on weekends and usually don't blog thus. However, good fortune has bestowed on me the determination, the right mood as well as delightful company to embark on my photography trip today! Yes, in case you don't who's my delightful company, it's Urong san-my great friend who shares my interest in photography. it is a pity that his camera is currently under servicing if not i'm sure he would be able to present a different but surely refreshing perspective on our outing today... Haha

Due to an intermittent drizzle, we only managed to set off at 3.30pm and like what i describe my modus operandi around 3 entries earlier on, my plan was to simply get off at a random stop. In the end, we chose to disembark at Tanjong Pagar [Exit G]. So here we go!

Okay this inaugural photo was Urong-san's idea alright? Basically he wanted to convey a sense of waiting and pining... But i guess it went awry...haha

We went on walking under the persistent rain along Maxwell Road and Urong-san showcased his mentally-unhinged thinking again... Sigh, why must i suffer again?

I guess it was time for me to wrest control of my camera from him lest he got to other wacky stuff so i took 2 shots of this red building which happens to be a Museum.

A front mugshot of the Art Museum.

My other take of the building.

We didn't know that Maxwell is an area brimming with Nightlife and entertainment spots till we saw places like Mox and bla bla. There was this pub called happy with an interesting vertical installation of Art.

Hmmm...

Apparently Urong san was still dwelling in his mentally-unhinged state when he did an impression of "oxymoron".

Some random shots that i took along Maxwell road...

Get the picture?

Man often wear different masks depending on situations but buildings?

Urong spotted this KTV outlet called Family KTV and while he scrutinised the rates, i did a shot of perspective art... Okay i did try.

Before dinner, the search brigade went on searching for Satchi's but in th midst, the both of us lost contact! I wandered into Ann Siang Hill while he went into a Bazaar. I was charmed by this quaint little place tucked away in a corner of Chinatown and i took some pictures...

We went back in the direction of Chinatown when i suddenly recalled my mum saying that Satchi's is having a sale and that their location is in the vicinity-South Bridge Road. After an ardous round of searching, we concluded that the store was not in the vicinity and we went to Maxwell Hawker Centre for dinner.

We had half of a chicken to both of us from Tian Tian Chicken Rice, Yum! Hehe!! Urong lamented that we didn't took a shot of our majestic looking dinner long after the poor bird was in our tummy... haha

After dinner, the search brigade bravely commenced on a second round of searching but but...

I was miffed but what can i do? ll...

We returned to our original plan of wandering and kept a lookout for photography opportunities. Time to showcase our chances...

We found an interesting lift lobby in a building called One George. As interesting as George Bush...

Actually i'm a bit disappointed here as i thought that the effect would be enhanced if the body of water wasn't ruffled so much here.

Feeling of strength.

Next to One George we saw the famous Speakers' Corner. We decided to visit and clown around a bit...

Yes yes... i am the SK party again...

Okay we should have activated the flash here but it is obvious that we are "zhi xiao"ing. Hey, but we are breathing life into the Speakers' Corner!

Coincidentally today there was a celebration in Chinatown this evening and i clambered up an overhead bridge to attempt to capture the festive mood while Urong san was captivated by a Chinese Orchestra's performance...

Fumbling around with the slow shutter function ...

I just felt a bit pensive at this moment so i took this photo...

Urong was really surprised by the performance because according to him, the Tao Nan Primary pupils allegedly surpassed the standards of a particular JC which happened to do a version of the piece that the kiddos were playing. Needless to say, i was baffled too. Imagine a primary school kid thrashing myself in basketball! Shudders*

Urong san took a memorable picture which look "Narnia"ish... Haha

And my parting shot? The former police station on Victoria Street...

If only i had my tripod...

That's all folks! going for my first driving lesson tomorrow so i wish myself all the best!
