IMT

This morning, i went for my mandatory IMT session. It was held at Nee Soon camp. So as to ensure that all personnel can complete their IMT sessions as soon as possible, we were made to fall in at 0620 hrs so as to catch the earliest bus to Nee Soon camp, the hosting camp of our IMt session. We were subsequently briefed and informed that our range session might eventually be in Nee Soon Camp itself.

When our bus arrived within Nee Soon Camp, i was struck by how modern the facilities in Nee Soon Camp appear to be. In contrast, Mt Barebones which is a much younger camp, appear in shambles despite having received lavish funding on refurbishment and makeovers.

Owing to the fact that many of us are taking range for the first time in an active unit, many of us were slightly disorientated. My impression of our IMT session was drawn squarely from my sole and prior experience in BMT which was long and horrendously boring.
We were informed of our respective details and lanes and subsequently separated thereafter.

Unfortunately, early details reported a malfunction in some lanes which caused a backlog in terms of channeling personnel for the actual IMT. Hence instead of being in detail 5, i was transferred all the way back to detail 7 which was flabberghasting. Nevertheless, time passed quite quickly as a groups of us soon clustered together to chat.

My own IMT session nearly turned into a fiasco. It taught me a good lesson on the importance of zeroing. Once again, i was reminded at the great disadvantage presented to personnel who don spectacles. I managed to scrap it through even though it was the first time i was shooting at targets that came up at random, a new concept to me unlike what was done in BMT. Contrary to the fears that i was constantly harbouring within me throughout the brief stay in Nee Soon Camp, there was no massive delay and we packed up and left promptly at about 1330 hrs.

However, the thought of having to come back for the real thing on a friday is daunting to me. Well... just hoping that everything proceeds smoothly. I'm praying that the recent wet spell will not go as far as to prolong our shoot and therefore delay my book out.

Anyway, i'm heading for my second driving lesson today. Hope i can pick up smoothly from where i left on Sun and hopefully not repeat the mistakes that my instructor pointed out.
