When i printed out my lesson acknowledge slip and discovered that my car is still no. 23, i nearly recoiled in fear. After all, the unmemorable experiences i had on Sun was in this seemingly ordinary car.
Nevertheless, my fears were unfounded... The worries i had was boundless. The weather was far from fair as it was raining intermittently. At times, i experience difficulties making out the lane markings on the road even during noon time on Sun itself. Another concern was my apparent ill- coordination of the clutch and accelerator which can be best described in army lingo as "psycho motor". Something that had sunk in deep in my memory was my ineptness in steering properly at bends and sharp corners which forced my instructor to intervene countless times.
The mournful bell chimed as i ran through the various procedures required for stopping and moving and etc. Then i was introduced to Instructor Woo Y O. He was extremely affable in my opinion and cordial in his teaching. Perhaps it was the therapeutic effect of his droning voice that calmed me down considerably. I found that i began to handle the car with unprecedented ease- the accelerator pedal did not felt as stiff as it did on Sun. I resembled a driver now.
i still had some teething problem here and there but he was extremely patient =). Driving around the circuit in both directions helped in bolstering up my confidence. There was one or two occasions where vehicles careened onto my path but to my amazement, i managed to take the appropriate evasive manoeuvres without exhibiting any hints of anxiety. I was doing things like lane changing, turning into traffic junctions and etc.
It was good. The gain in confidence helped in blowing the gloom away. I am happy now! =))
