Early November
As a poor little thing struggling to get by in Mt Barebones, I was resigned to my lot that i have to painfully drag my feet at a time when many of my contemporaries were already happily clearing leave and offs. Basically, I started shifting more attention to what Life could possibly be after ORD. All along I have known that Sunset was coming but reality didn't seem to sink in until Nightfall came. Sigh... hence the previous paranoidal entry. However, I did try to find job listings in the Straits Times Classified but i think I spent more effort worrying for Inuyasha and gang's Lives over the Shikon No Tama. (Hey! I did try okay!!!)
The good thing during this period was that Boss wasn't around and so essentially I was de facto Boss in Office. Heh. The 5 day work week become much easier to pass by especially with the likes of me waking up at 0900hrs or so every morning. In Camp, that is. Yawn... And You Rong and I began planning for Marleen's Birthday Celeb which unfortunately, wasn't going to take place until 2 weeks later than her actual birthday. Oh well... Let's just say that the both of us, with the blessings and co-operation of everyone, managed to prevent a fiasco from hatching.
Mid-November
I started hounding or rather haunting my S1 for my Service Injury Report and also out of some conveniently mitigated circumstances, managed to conclude a pact with the Devil. That was how my understudy described the deal i concluded with my S1. Basically, I will do some rather complicated and knotty Administrative Instructions for some Off-In-Lieus. Lucrative, you think so too? In the end, I secured 3.5 days of off on top of the 9.5 days of leave that I still had at my disposal. So you see, Urong san, those OILs are not conjured out of magic as you've alleged. After all, I don't have Dumbledore at my beck and calls.
Late November
Started clearing my leave and OIL w.e.f. from the 3rd week of November which was pretty late in my opinion and as far as my peers are concerned. But then again, they did burn weekends and I didn't so I had better keep my trap sealed about this. Had a rather rude shock when I realised that Boss was flying back from Frankfurt on the 16th rather than on the 23rd the following week. Honeymoon cut short but at least my understudy is in already. 太极 most powerful stance, Sai Kang十八掌!!! Heh. Honeymoon resumed without a hitch. And to add the icing on the cake, Urong san also started clearing in the same week. :D
Marleen's Birthday Celebration 25/11/2006
And so I cleared and cleared and cleared... To the extent that my differentiation between a weekend and a weekday which was entrenched by the Army was lost... :P And so we managed to meet up on the 25th of Nov despite Marleen's tight schedule. And I realised right from the start of the outing that sometimes worrying oneself to the core is really pointless. After all, things would eventually work themselves out at the occasion. The outing was quite a vibrant one with many jokes cracked and much amusement attained from Weili's radically new image.
An attempt by Marleen to prove that she could take a crisp shot without the need of Optical Image Stabiliser Technology... Hmmm, girl i think you should really buy a new camera with that technology.
There was a rather minor sequel to the main celeb on Sat. You see, apparently I offended the gals with a particular off putting remark during dinner at Seoul Garden. While I believe that that comment was most probably off-the-cuff, I became convinced by Urong san's rhetoric on Sun that I had indeed commited a grave offence. Well, We spent nearly an hour racking our brains to sieve out that particular offensive word I said. Apparently, 2 heads weren't better than one. Left with no alternative and armed with only bare-kunckled courage, I called the girls. Futile attempt. Was even labelled as an anal as a matter of fact. :/
The Temporary Job 02/12/2006-03/12/2006
I received a message from Tara late on Sun (After Marleen's Birthday). She was so sweet to let on us about a temporary job offer by Vantage Motor. So in the end, Urong san and I worked for yestersday and today for $106 which is really good money. Fully aware of the fact that we might have to get down and dirty while doing stocktaking in a dusty warehouse, the 2 of us proudly wore the grey Army T-Shirt for work. Sigh... Kiang chew hoe, mai gae kiang. How true this is man! Immediately the Army Duo were arrowed to tackle the Ford heavy parts in Bin CA. Goodness! The huge windscreens as well as the maddening long string of senseless Part Numbers. Still, we had a great time practising our Phonetic Alphabets.
The hardest part of it all was the long periods of standing and standing and more standing... Despite the rather sizeable turnout of the temps, we pretty kept to ourselves and more or less worked ceaselessly. But there was this really very cute girl that caught my attention. :D Anyway, I noticed nowadays that quite a number of girls return lingering glances when I look at them. And sometimes, the reciprocation continues for a repeat of 3 or 4 times. Hey, I am not a Chemistry student for nothing alright! We do 3 attempts for titration in Volumetric Assesment for what else but to confirm! :D
Anyway, I plucked up sufficient courage to ask her for her email address (ie. MSN lah duh!!)Very sweet girl, this E En... Anyway, I didn't ask her for her handphone number because I thought that was rather passe you know... Ai yah, see how lah, for fun only.... Should I add her? And what should I name the category that her contact is in? -The Girl In The Warehouse-?? Lol... That's all folks...
