The power of influence

I remembered dismissing Stairway to Heaven as yet another dramatic Korean tearjerker. By any count, Koreans are really unrivalled when it comes to the art of producing melancholic serials. Maybe Mediacorp should consider partnership tieups with Korean TV station rather than with oh-my-gawd-you-mean-this-is-a-TV-station TV Station. Okay, back to my point. I have never really watch Stairway to Heaven and the only thing my mind can conjure up when someone mutters STH is of the love song "Room At The Top Of The Stairs" by Eddie Rabbitt.

But influence is one heck of a mystery you know and it still stumps me today. I say this from my own experience. Like the old chinese adage"jin zhu zhe chi, jin mo zhe hei", indeed i have been influence to a great extent from the people around me especially Urong san. I am unable give any specifics here but my family who also feel that way too. Sometimes [but not all the time], both of us will tend to on the same wavelength but of course there are some areas where we take different viewpoints and are adamant on it.

So how does this link to Bogoshipda, the song? Well... like i said, i don't really like STH initially but after a long time of listening to that song subconsciously whenever i browse Urong's blog, i seem to have develop a liking for it. The emotions that are conveyed strongly across by Kim Bum Soo even though it's in a different language, it just amazes me.Even though i have never been through the ordeals that the characters of STH were subjected to, i somehow feel that i can relate to the song.

If not for positive influence, i might have never have a proper chance to appreciate the song...
