Getaway for two to Maldives. Spa cum Yoga retreat in Yogjakarta. How many times have i not been inundated by a deluge of adverts calling for a escapade? Countless. Do humans really eke out such a terrible existence such that it is a must to get away every now and then? Compared to migratory birds which are subjected to dire and possibly fatal consequences if they do not seek warmer habitats elsewhere, the need for humans to unwind seems absurd don't you think?

I am an urbanite and i have lived in an urban settings in my life thus far, except maybe during field camp during my early NS days. I do understand how one sometimes develop an urge to get away from the built-up environment. However do we really appreciate the fact that the real sanctuary has always existed in our very hearts? It is an enclave that do not exist in physical proportions and thus cannot be reached by physical means. Rather, it is a level of bliss that can be attained only if one ponders and realise the true meaninhg of a sanctuary.

Often, i see the following scenario unfold before my eyes over and over again. A little tyke walks unsteadily in a slow manner. Before long, an adult comes over and swings the toddler onto his arm and paces off in a brisk manner. Was the adult impatient? Imagine letting the little tot totter at his own pace while you stroll leisurely behind. It may take forever for you to walk from one place to another but wouldn't you gain heaps of joy from watching the cute manner the little tyke walks?

The secret to a sanctuary is time. Refrain from being calculating about time and you'll realise how much you'll gain. Definitely they are of a intangible form that serves to fill you up immensely.
